Although we had been at Mole Creek for sometime, we certainly saw plenty.  We used it as a base to see the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, climbing Cradle Mountain three times and completing the highest peak challenge for Tasmania climbing Mt Ossa and completing the 40klm round trip in one day.  We saw Devils Gullet, Fisher River, Lake McKenzie, the Mole Creek-Karst NP, Tasmazia, Chudleigh Honey Farm, nearby towns of Sheffield and Deloraine, camped, fished, four wheel drived, went to Brisbane and to Perth (WA that is) plus lots more.  Did I mention catching up on kids school work too!  It certainly was an action packed few weeks and…a good time to move on as well.

Well farewell Mole Creek…it is a great place to use as a base…have a look.

You can choose between powered or unpowered sights and there are many areas along the creek where you can enjoy an open fire with firewood included.  You don’t get that very often anymore.

The amenities are basic but clean with a laundry and campers hut including fridge and gas BBQ.  There are plenty of picnic tablse within the park too.

We had a lovely time there and got along well with the owners.  The caravan park is very kid friendly and it is good to see the speed limit of 10 klm/hour enforced ridigidly…other than the kids on the bikes which should have been done for speeding a few times.

The kids enjoyed the park with its close proximity to animals, friendly owners and the creek.  Perhaps a kids playground would have been the only other advantageous thing.

A great base and lovely people…we will be back.

At the time of our stay a powered site for our van, 2 adults, 2 children was $20 per night with every 7th day free.  Can’t do better than that hey, great value for money.
