With the car back we took it for a run around Melbourne stopping at the famous Queen Victoria Market. These markets are huge! We were there for a couple of hours and only scratched the surface. Lovely Lynda was right at home with all the clothes whilst Joey Jess and Oranatang Amy fell in love with the many fairy shops and kids toys on display. Bushman Bud was reckoning this was going to cost him a fortune. I had a plan in mind though…more about this later.
The markets are fascinating. The variety of stalls is awesome and they are open everyday except Monday and Wednesday. There is certainly an opportunity to pick up a bargain or two. I need to mention all the fresh food and deli produce aswell which was great value for money. Unfortunately you cannot take fresh fruit or veggies into Tassie so we missed out here. Get out if you are in Melbourne and have a looksy, parking is a nightmare but the trams run right past the markets so no excuses.
Anyway back to the plan. Offer all of them an icecream. Not just an icecream though but a well renown shop on Lydon St – Gellantissimos. As soon as this was mentioned the markets became a second thought and there was a general rush to the car.
This Italian icecream is awesome, if not a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. There is a wide selection to try so we will have to go back for sure. The fresh fruit icecream was my favourite with the Wild Berry and Banana among the best I have tried. The flavours are really what they say!
Well that was a great side excursion, now onto the DFO at Essendon. Direct Factory Outlets in case anyone was wondering. We had been looking for a replacement video camera for a while to help with the video blogs on You tube and this website. We managed to negotiate a good deal and are now ready to bring you even more information from Bushman Bud and his 4WD adventures. We did manage to have a look around the rest of the DFO just before closing and there seemed to be many bargains, inparticular clothing.
Great day, great fun.
