We left our camp in the pine forest and travelled on towards Tin Can Bay. Amazingly five minutes down the road we had to laugh because we passed the turnoff to Log Dump Campsite…amazing…one foot before gold hey…another lesson learnt…we were actually on the right track after all!
We turned towards Gympie at the highway running between Rainbow Beach/Tin Can Bay and Gympie. We had spent 3 weeks in this area last year around Xmas time and so there was no point covering old ground. Hitting Gympie we travelled down the Bruce Highway before turning left towards Noosa and then basically followed the coast road down from Noosa to Maroochyadore. At Maroochydore we decided to stop at the Big 4 right on the main river for two nights before we head to Brisbane for a car check up, before continuing onto the Gold Coast to catch up with family.
At Maroochydore, we explored the town and then travelled down the coast to Coloundra where we stopped in at a boat show and purchased an outboard engine that was going really cheap. Not sure what we will do with the engine…perhaps we will buy a boat!!!
