We didn’t leave Ebor until 2:30pm and after looking at the maps decided to make camp on the banks of the Cockburn River just outside Limbri (approx 40 klm East of Tamworth). Arriving about 6pm we set up camp ate dinner and had some quiet time reading before bed. The kids enjoyed playing with the many rocks, stones and pebbles on the river bed of the Cockburn River. There are many areas to camp up and down the river between Kootingal and Limbri so take a pick of your spot. We chose an area just East of the designated recreational camping spot (approx 11klms East of Kootingal) close to the river and with nice shade. The view from the bedroom window was quite spectacular.
