After getting off the ferry at 7:00am but being woken up at 5:30am by the general wake up call – 5 to 6 hours sleep for us and the kids wasn’t quite enough so an easy day was on the cards.

You can’t bring any fruit and veg into Tassie so off to the supermarket to stock up.  Surpisingly fruit and veg here in Ulverstone was very expensive.

After the shops we stopped into the local Tourist Information Centre chasing some maps.  Incredibly I could not get any detailed maps of Tasmania – strange huh!  I did manage however to get in touch with a few 4WD Clubs and get some information on some 4WD tracks around Tassie ranging from Easy to Very Tough.  Sounds like the Patrol is going to get a work out.

We are still working through plans on where to head next.  At this stage possibly in the Arthur River direction in the NW of Tassie.  Keep you posted on that.  Keep you eye on the 4WD Trips section for a writeup and directions on the 4WD tracks we take on.

Later we went for a walk on the beach, watched a little Tennis and off to bed to get some rest.

Make sure you have a good look along the West Coast. If you like 4WDing then that’s a brilliant spot. Post some pics when you get there.

    Cheers, the site is cool.

Thanks for the thumbs up JD. We are trying to work out a plan based on weather. We figure doing the SW first then working towards NW. When do you think is the best time. We will definately post some pics, track info and video blogs…so keep watching.
