We left Ulvertsone at 10:15am and had a quick stop in town to pick up some basic supplies such as bread, milk and fuel.
It was only 22 klms to the campsite but I think it took us about 40 klms by the time we found it. I turned off the road the campsite was on about 2.5 klms early and headed the long way around. The extra distance allowed us to see some of the great Tasmanian country side and after all we not in any hurry.
We arrived at camp just before midday and spent the afternoon there until heading back to Ulverstone to watch the ladies singles final. Check out the campsite writeup at: http://bushmanbud.com/nsw/alma-reserve-free-camping-on-the-forth-river/
In between arriving back at Ulverstone and the start of the tennis, the kids played at the skate park whilst I watched a game of club cricket at the local cricket club. It was a little bit of fun.
At least I had remembered how to get back to camp and this time it was only 22 klms.
After a good nights rest we explored the campsite some more, chatted to another family on their way around Australia and headed off to Leven Canyon for a look and a walk. The Leven Canyon has a great lookout and loop walk trail which takes about 45 minutes. Check the writeup at: http://bushmanbud.com/4wdin/leven-canyon-part-1-northern-tasmania/
Eager to watch the mens singles final after enjoying yesterdays womens final we headed back to Ulverstone where we have just finished dinner and will settle into the match shortly.
We will be camping at Leven Canyon tonight and exploring further down the canyon tommorrow with a walk to Devils Lair! Sounds spooky!
We will post our findings in the coming days as it is likely we will have no coverage until we hit another town.
