We have had some fun finding our way around Melbourne. It is certainly a different city to that of Perth.
Yesterday we went into the city to have a look through the CBD and get my Ipod fixed and finally Lovely Lynda got her mobile phone fixed!
Today we went to the Docklands DFO (Factory Outlets). I have to say though after being to the States late last year, they are expensive. Still the experience was good. So too was being looped around the freeway system by the Tom Tom GPS and paying numerous road tolls, unfortunately at the same toll point numerous times also.
Finally watch out for the trams. There are so many new road rules you have to be aware of when travelling around Melbourne. Such rules as turning right from the left lane???? (where marked) and giving way to Trams that are stopping (so you don’t run anyone over). We had a close encounter with the tram kind yesterday almost taking it head on trying to turn right where we couldn’t – ouch. Alls well that ends well I guess. I am thankful to the people who allowed the silly WA driver to reverse back into the peak hour traffic, saving all and sundy – lesson learnt I guess.
The Nissan Patrol is getting fixed over the next couple of days so hopefully the damage is not so bad. Apparently the company who dyno tuned the car in Brisbane did a pretty awful job. So much so that they forgot to clamp the hose on the turbo boost causing the turbo to overload with pressure when the hose came loose???? There are other percularities that were not taken care of such as fuel pump mods, heat shield on bigger exhaust, etc, etc. I may add that the company is a well written about company in the 4WD Action magazine. I will be taking up there professionalism with them for sure.
Once tuned properly and the turbo fixed and checked for damage we have purchased a Aussie Desert Cooler radiator to rectify the cooling problems associated with towing around 3.5t in hot conditions. We will let you know how this goes.
Stay tuned…and keep the comments coming please.
