The plan for the day was to take the jetski from Runaway Bay, stop for lunch at Sanctuary Cove and continue on to the Bedrooms to do some crabbing. We had a 30ft boat in tow with the rest of the crew safely riding in luxury.
The Broadwater was busy with all the Christmas boat traffic so we headed quickly for the Coomera River and smoother water. That was the time for the mishap. Round a bend, hit a wave broadside and over went Bushman Bud and the family. I was really impressed with the kids jumping back on the jetski quickly with Orangatang Amy using her survival skills, quickly jumping on my back and swimming with me.
Next was lunch at Sanctuary Cove. If you are travelling this way on boat or in the car come and enjoy lunch here over looking the water. Their are many places to choose from and lunchtime meals start from $15.00. Georges half price lunch and dinner is always popular and highly recommended.
After lunch with the family it was onto the mud flats at the Bedrooms. We all played with the little ghost crabs, went for a swim and headed home. With Uncle Wayne in the drivers seat, cousin Memphis in the middle and Busman Bud on the back we headed quickly home. Just before the channel into the canal over we went again…what a laugh!! Thats what having fun is all about. Enjoying Australia’s great outdoors, a couple of harmless mishaps and seeing and experiencing some of the best waterways in Australia here on the Gold Coast’s Broadwater.
