G’day all,

Today we were happy to leave Tassie.  The weather had again turned.  We basically did a few routine jobs and waited to jump on the ferry.

Getting there at check in time we finally learnt our lesson that you just end up waiting in line for a good hour or so.  The best way to tackle the ferry is to turn up 15mins before close off time when no one else is around and drive straight on board.  Next time we will be much the wiser.

Onboard the ferry the forecast was for 7-9m waves and a bumpy and rocky ride to Melbourne.  Given the dire looking forecast the conditions were quite good onboard.  We enjoyed the onboard movie and then me and Joey Jess watched the live band and enjoyed a hot chocolate while Orangatang Amy and Lovely Lynda went to bed feeling sea sick.

Been woken up at 5:40am is always going to be a struggle, however just enough time for a quick shower and then down to the car and hit Melbourne’s city streets before peak hour traffic arrives.

We were back on the mainland and I must say relieved to be there.  We now turned our sights on a few days skiing Perisher and then heading to the Gold Coast for caravan maintenance before heading for Cape York.

Our first day back on the mainland was clearing the city and heading to a beaut rest stop for the night at Foster.
