G’day all,
After an awesome weekend 4WDing on the West Coast of Tasmania on the Balfour Track and Montezuma Falls/Ring River Road Track it was time to set sights on our next adventure. Lucky for us we received an invite to attend a day of 4×4 offroad action with the Landrover 4WD Club and Chris Boden from “Roving.” So we are heading to Kingston just outside Hobart to meet with the club and then head out on some of the Southern Forest tracks. Chris Boden knows his way around these parts and from the trip description, he is taking us out to see some challenging terrain.
We are therefore packing up and heading off from Evandale after moving from Sulphur Creek to Evandale earlier in the week. At Evandale (approx 20klm South of Launceston) is a great free camping spot for self contained vehicles. Our offroad van meets that description so the Falls Reserve made an excellent stop over to wash down the car, look after a few maintenance issues and stock up on supplies.
Heading to Hobart we are unsure where to stay at the moment and will look for some free camping kust outside Kingston whilst we tackle the 4WD adventure. Following on from that we will begin exploring the areas around Hobart such as Port Arthur, Bruny Island and the Huon Forests…to mention a few.
Stay tuned and check out our adventures as they unfold.

Some know you as Bushman Bud, but we know you as Buddha from the West Coast of Oz
How are you and the girls mate, sounds like you are having a whale of time over there in Tassy, love the video of the water crossing. The old blind on the front of the truck works, hey?
Great keeping a track on you guys and getting more jealous every time I read one of your articles.
Hehe try not to grow two heads whilst in Tassy, hey mate?
Take care and say hey to Issues and the Princess for me
- Froggy.
Hey Froggy
How you going yourself mate? We are having a ball over here in Tassie…and no…last time I looked in the mirror I still had one head. I dunno what the probation is for that one but better make sure I don’t over stay my welcome hey. We are catching up with lots of people from different clubs around the area. Yesterday was a great trip through the Southern Forests through Huonville…and yes I got to pull out a Toyota!!! It was a shame that none of the Landrovers got stuck!! The Defender’s are quite awesome offroad.
The tracks are getting muddier and the rivers are getting deeper and the snorkel is definately a requirement over here is Tasmania.
Issues has kept her “issues” to a minimum…so life is good. The two little princesses are growing up each day, but are much wiser for their adventures. Each day gives them something new to explore. In fact they have both gone up a year in school with less hours of formal schooling…that says a lot for a good old Aussie adventure and real life experiences for an education, hey.
I will post a photo of where we are staying at the moment. Gordon Foreshore overlooking the Don EnCastreau Bay, what a view out of the bedroom or dining room window.
Thanks for the post Froggy, we miss everyone back home and think of you all. You are a good mate and we enjoy hearing from you all.
Regards
